Friends of Portugal President & European Director host special seminar for Portuguese students

“Portugal is on everyone’s radar right now,” said Randy Ataide, President of Friends of Portugal, to a group of Portuguese college and master’s students at the Superior Institute of Accounting and Administration or ISCAL, a higher education institute in the heart of Lisbon.

And indeed that seemed to be the theme of the night as both Randy and Hendrik von Niessen, FoP’s European director, gave a special seminar about entrepreneurship and Portugal’s potential as an economic power in the world.

Students ranged from various majors including management, business, commerce and international business and many of them voiced a desire to become entrepreneurs and start their own businesses.

Some of the topics Hendrik and Randy addressed were Portugal’s potential as an economic power in the world, the common myths of entrepreneurship, and valuing Portuguese products and culture. Randy and Hendrik also offered some advice on what it takes to be a great entrepreneur and encouraged the students to continue creating and building a new Portugal through their entrepreneurial and creative ideas.

After, students had the opportunity to speak to Hendrik and learn more about FoP and A Ponte. This initial event was the beginning of a fruitful relationship Friends of Portugal hopes to have with ISCAL and other universities and students.

Friends of Portugal is pleased to support the sharing of knowledge and experience with the next generation of Portuguese entrepreneurs and business owners. It was an exciting event that gives us hope for what the future holds for them.
